What is Gua Sha?It is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves using a soft tool on most areas of the body. It highlights soft tissue damage under the skin.
-
What is Gua Sha good for?It can help to relieve muscle and joint pain. This includes back pain, tendon strain, and carpal tunnel syndrome.
-
Does it hurt?It is like having a sports/deep tissue massage but leaves marks on the skin known as sha. Any sha that appears heals in a few days.
-
What is LymphaTouch? This is a machine which uses negative pressure to help reduce fluids and other waste products in the area being treated enhancing the body's own healing process.
-
What is it good for?Edenaa, soft tissue mobilisation, scar therapy and pain management.
-
Does it hurt? This treatment is painless.
-
What is the difference between LymphaTouch and Lymphatic Drainage?LymphaTouch and manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) are both methods for stimulating lymphatic flow, but LymphaTouch uses a device with negative pressure and mechanical vibration, while MLD uses hand techniques. Both are used to reduce swelling, improve circulation, and potentially aid in scar tissue softening.
-
Which one should I choose LymphaTouch or MLD?If you have lymphedema or post-operative swelling: Both MLD and Lymphatouch can be effective, but you may want to start with MLD. If you have scar tissue or fibrosis: Lymphatouch may be more effective, especially if it's a more localised issue. If you have a medical condition that makes MLD unsafe: Lymphatouch may be a safer alternative. If you prefer a more comfortable or less hands-on approach: Lymphatouch may be a better choice. If you have a swelling caused by sporting injury: LymphaTouch may be more effective. If in any doubt please contact me directly for assistance but clients can book a mixture of both treatments if. unsure.
